The Rubber Cheese Design Process
We thought we'd give you an insight into the way we work so you can understand the process that goes into designing your logo/posters/website etc..!
Step 1. Listen & Learn
First up, we try and find out as much as we can about the person & company. We ask questions, and use our detailed questionnaire to get specific answers.
We try to find out as much about you and your needs as we can. Who you are, What you do, Why you do it and if you love cheese? Alright, we can be flexible about the last one, but you get the idea. We build up a picture of you and your business, which helps us create the ideal design solution for you. The more you can tell us, the better.
Step 2. Work Together
We involve our clients as much as possible. Telling them our ideas, showing them doodles, and getting valuable feedback. We'll find out if the client has ideas, suggestions. Then we supply a Service Proposal, including description of what we'll be doing, costing & time guidelines, supplying them with a site map if the job is a website design.
Making design a simple, enjoyable process for our clients.
Step 3. Design & Concept
Try and link the design to the company. Really think about what we're doing and why. Make the ideas we have work for the client, not just look good.
Ok, this is the fun bit. Sketching, doodling, brainstorming, testing ideas, eating cheese......erm, sorry. We work hard find the best concepts to communicate your dreams & visions. And then on to the finer details. Does this font say “stylish”, what colour says “trustworthy” and so on until it's just right. Rubber Cheese work hard to deliver you the best solution we can, because we truly love what we do.
Step 4. Testing
Put yourself into the audience's shoes. Does this design work for the clients target market? Is it too childish, too fussy, too corporate, and not corporate enough? Check everything works. Does anything need tweaking, changing colour etc? Justify all the design. Does it need complex rollover buttons? Does it need a huge Flash animation to make it work? This should be an ongoing process – working together on the project and getting feedback from each other.
Step 5. Finalise
When you're happy with the final concept, we can polish the edges and get it ready for launch. We make a final check to confirm we're all happy, and then deliver you your solution.
But, it doesn't end there. We stay in contact with you to see how the solution is working and to offer you ongoing support.

What a busy month!
Paul was lucky enough to win tickets to the Live 8 Concert. Here's his review of the day!"How can I begin. It was possibly the biggest gig of all time and I was lucky enough to win tickets to go. It would have been a lot better if I had won tickets into the Gold section, as that area seemed to take up most of Hyde Park, but me and my girlfriend got near enough to have a good view.
The atmosphere was wicked, and everyone was in high spirits even though there wasn't any booze, which was a good thing, as I would have probably not remembered any of it by the end!
I couldn't really say there was a highlight for me, as the whole day was so good, but my most memorable parts were: Snoop Dogg just being Snoop Dogg, Ricky Gervais doing the dance, Mariah Carey being booed off for being a total diva, Coldplay and Richard Ashcroft doing Bitter Sweet Symphony and then of course the legendary, Pink Floyd playing together again after 20 years.
An abnormal historic day!" And, on top of all that, we've just moved into our first studio in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside!
Good Bye!
