No Added Salt
Overview
No Added Salt have developed a range of children's ready meals packed full of hidden vegetables, herbs and goodness. They were very aware that just a small portion of food would fill toddlers tummies up very quickly, so they wanted to pack as many nutrients into the food as possible, while still appealing to babies taste buds. Other food ranges available we’re very bland, so much so that their babies got bored with eating it after a few mouthfuls. So again, here was another reason to keep the food attractive, tasty, but packed with goodness.
No Added Salt had an awesome product but needed help to brand it, package it and promote, so they approached Rubber Cheese.
Results
Before we began any design work we fully tested the product (many plates later our stomachs were full) and realised just how tasty the food was whilst being packed full of hidden and healthy ingredients. We established that this had to be the main message, this was the major selling point for the company and the food range.
We then did some research on the toddler food market by:
- Researching their competitors
- Ways in which it could be sold to customers
- How the brand could be promoted within the market
Brand Design
Once we did out market research we started to create the brand. We helped with naming the company and then designed the logo. No Added Salt were very keen to have a rustic, vibrant feel whilst keeping the look recognisable and child related.
We chose a very friendly, readable font and a rugged distinctive circle for the words to sit in that could be changed in colour and used on many different marketing materials or packaging. We crossed out the salt and added the love heart to really hammer home the fact that it is good healthy food that you will love!
Once the logo design was agreed we designed all the stationery including distinctive business cards, letter heads and comp slips.
Website Design & Development
We were then ready to start on the design and development of the website. We established the main aims of the website;
- to gather information from potential customers
- to educate customers about the food range and it’s healthy ingredients
- to give users an overview of the company
We designed the website making sure that the style fitted with the logo design, so we used lots of textures, layers and vibrant colours to give it an organic feel. We created hand drawn illustrations for all of the pages and individual food icons to keep the look and feel consistent whilst also giving the pages their own identity. The illustrations really gives the pages some life and enhances the brands identity.
We built the website on a cms blogging platform called wordpress. No Added Salt wanted the ability to update the website on a regular basis and wordpress was the perfect solution.
Printed Materials
To help promote the food range offline we designed and printed flyers, posters and exhibition stands. We made sure that the brand identity was kept consistent throughout by using the same textures, icons, colours and illustrations that we had used on the website.
When we first met No Added Salt they had a great desire and awesome tasting food recipes. They now have a thriving and exciting business that will only go from strength to strength.
