Schneider Electric

We were approached by Schneider Electric to help them pitch a new concept to their clients, building on an already successful working relationship.

How We Helped
Schneider Electric

Energy Efficiency Solutions

As a global specialist in energy management with operations in more than 100 countries, Schneider Electric offers integrated solutions across multiple market segments, including leadership positions in energy and infrastructure, industrial processes, building automation, and data centres/networks, as well as a broad presence in residential applications.

How we’ve helped…

We were asked to design a series of interactive display screens, to show the user how an office building is working and how energy efficient the building is. Schneider Electric felt that it would be beneficial to their clients if the interactive screen concepts were designed by a company that did not have an engineering background, as they would need to be easily used by anyone.

Their ability to instinctively know what it is their client is looking for

The Rubber Cheese team stand out from their competition in their ability to instinctively know what it is their client is looking for. Their conceptual designs for the dashboards / display screens have totally encapsulated the future needs and evolution of the management system.

The finer details…

Our Creative Director Paul Wright began an intensive information architecture process. Working with the system engineers, he identified how the engineering plans could be simplified into easily recognisable diagrams and icons, to explain how the building works.

We created an interactive user interface which could be used across all platforms or be used as a touch screen display. Simplicity for the user was the key, so we created display icons for each area of the building with rollovers and warning icons for when a problem arises in a certain area. We then created an easy to use navigation structure, so all areas could be accessed from any screen.

The Results

The screens are now fully functioning in the One New Change Retail and Commercial centre next to St Paul’s Cathedral, developed by Land Securities.
